One Afternoon in Joshua Tree...

There is something about a wide open space like this, that — even though you’re on display for miles — is almost private in its vastness. In Maine, the woods that I know best is tight and narrow and I’ve always thought of it as a good place to hide. Out here in the desert, there is no shade and there are no trees but it still feels like a place where no one can find you. The landscape reminds me how big the world is and how small we are while we’re in it. Just another way nature tells us that we’re no one, while offering us the freedom to be anyone. Basically I’m getting into some super heady sh*t out here. Also I finished this belt in this exact spot.
