We offer a two-year limited warranty.
All hardware, stitching and seams of Maven Leather designs are warrantied for two years from date of purchase. If within this timeframe, any of these elements fails, we will repair it, within our ability, for free (excluding any shipping costs).

The Maven Leather + Design studio does not repair the leatherwork of other brands.

Return + Exchange Policy
Maven is an extremely small label centered around handmade, one-of-a-kind work. Because of this, we do not accept returns.
Exchanges are considered on a case-by-case basis and must be requested within 48 hours of delivery. Exchanges can only be made for an in-stock design of equal or greater value. Customer pays all shipping costs. Additionally, exchanges can be completed at our Cayucos storefront within 7 days of purchase. Exchanged items must be in new, unused condition. Exchanges cannot be applied to custom orders.
If you believe you've encountered a manufacturing flaw, please reach out to us within 48 hours of receipt so we can find a swift solution.
Thank you for your understanding. We greatly appreciate your support.

We ship on Thursdays.
Our routine is to ship all orders out on Thursdays. That being said, and especially during the holiday season, we try to ship orders as soon as possible. But to be safe, please expect your order to ship on the following Thursday. If you need your order ASAP, please let us know in the checkout notes and we will do our best to make that happen.
You will receive an automated email with tracking information when your order is leaving the studio. We dabble in a few shipping companies but, for the most part, we use USPS Priority through our local post office.

For international shipping and rush costs, please inquire before purchase at info@mavenleather.com.
Custom orders will incur a custom design fee.
Customs are considered on a case-by-case basis and will only be discussed over email so we both have a record of our discussion. To begin the conversation about a potential custom project, please email us. If accepted, all custom commissions will incur an additional design fee of $100 and above.
We celebrate the beauty of authentic leather.
Understand that Maven uses minimally-processed, full grain leathers. Most often from free-roaming American buffalo. "Full grain" means that the natural grain of our leathers has been left very much in-tact. In the era of fast and confused fashion, it is very common for manufacturers to sand, glue and apply chemical additives to a leather hide in order to cover up its "imperfections." Not only do these methods erase the natural beauty of a sacred, ancient and organic material, but they diminish the strength of the leather.

At Maven, we're all about natural strength. We celebrate the markings, patinas, fat wrinkles and straight up scars of authentic, beautiful leather.
Your Maven leather bag will not come dowsed in plastic and other chemical finishes. And it will most likely display a natural marking of some sort, somewhere. These are not signs of weakness, but instead signs of authenticity and strength.

Our plant-dyed leathers require special care.
When a design is marked with the "plant dyed" banner, that means that it was handmade using leathers that were personally dyed by hand in her Central Coast-based studio using natural recipes and concepts that date back 15,000+ years in human civilization.
Emma is on a personal quest to create an abundant plant-dyed leather color palette for the Maven Leather + Design label. To achieve the indescribable natural colors of her palette, Emma uses the pigments from various plants, woods and insects. Once a color is "found" it can never be recreated in the exact way again. In this way, the journey of natural dyeing is a journey in letting go.
Designs marked "plant dyed" are 90% plant-dyed in this way, while those marked "plant dyes" feature plant-dyed details like a strap or decorative panel.
These plant-dyed pieces are always the pride and joy of every Maven leather collection. Expect colors to vary slightly from the photos and exhibit variations throughout the piece. In order for these colors to stay vibrant, they need a little bit of extra care. Please review our Leather Care page for instructions.
